ÃÛѨÊÓÆµ's third annual

NW Media Fest

ÃÛѨÊÓÆµ's NW Media Fest is a two-day celebration of the wide-ranging media universe. Events connect leading creators, entertainers, writers and media personalities with the ÃÛѨÊÓÆµ community and the Northwest.

Monday, November 3

Campus visit from , president and owner of Spring Green Communications.

  • 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Speaking to JAMS 150: Living in a Media World (Renshaw 201). Open to the ÃÛѨÊÓÆµ community. [Kevin Curry]

Wednesday, November 5

Campus visit from , novelist, screenwriter and graphic novelist -- coordinated by the Creative Writing department.

  • 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.: Speaking to joint class - JAMS 150: Living in a Media World / LITR 320: The American Graphic Novel. Location: JONASSON HALL
  • 5:30 p.m.: Readings @ The Nick - Mat will be doing a joint reading and discussion with novelist Aja Gabel.

2 - 3 p.m., Join the Wine Studies program for a presentation by wine writer, Katherine Cole.

 

Highlights from 2023

  • Dean Lemire performed his original score on the Alice Clement Memorial pipe organ in ÃÛѨÊÓÆµ's Richard and Lucille Ice Auditorium to the first vampire film, Nosferatu. Attendees dressed up in costume.

  • Joey Terrill, portrait photographer for athletes and celebs, worked with ÃÛѨÊÓÆµ students on photojournalism and color photography.

  • Bestselling author and scholar Moustafa Bayoumi discussed literature, politics and media at the Erickson Lecture.

  • Singer-songwriter Jessie G '12 performed for the community and discussed her writing process and journey from a political science student to the country music business. Fellow Nashville performing artist Christian Santangelo '15 backed her up during the performance in the Delkin Recital Hall.
