Pride and Allyship

A place to explore identity, build belonging and grow together in an affirming community.

Pride flags being hung in a window.

ÃÛѨÊÓƵ’s Pride and Allyship Live Learning Community, located in Campbell Hall, seeks to honor, celebrate and uplift the lived experiences of LGBTQIA+ students and their allies. The community provides an affirming environment where students can explore and express their identities, foster belonging, engage in meaningful dialogue and develop a deeper understanding of gender, sexuality, equity and allyship. Residents are encouraged to support an inclusive campus community, build connections with others and engage with resources that promote LGBTQIA+ visibility, education and belonging.

Great for students who:

  • Identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community or as an ally.
  • Want to celebrate and explore their identity in an affirming community.
  • Value belonging, connection and authentic relationships with others.
  • Are interested in learning about LGBTQIA+ experiences, gender, sexuality and identity.
  • Want to develop their understanding of allyship, advocacy and creating more inclusive communities.

Educational Initiatives

In addition to intentional programming, each Live Learning Community is expected to maintain educational materials that reinforce the purpose and learning outcomes of the community. At minimum, each community must display a bulletin board or educational display explaining the community's theme, learning objectives, available campus resources and opportunities for resident involvement. These educational initiatives should be refreshed at least once each semester to provide residents with current information and continued opportunities for engagement.
